Powertrain Part 1: Propulsion System — Why an 80 mm EDF (Electric Ducted Fan)?

Exposed propellers pose severe risks during hand launches and belly landings on rough terrain. METE features an internal Galaxy X8 80 mm EDF (3280-KV2200) generating 3.4 - 3.65 kg static thrust. Reducing the exhaust nozzle by 10% increases efflux velocity. Enclosing the fan within an internal duct eliminates propeller breakages, removes gyroscopic roll torque reactions, and maximizes safety.
